Aluminum foil is covered with moisture-absorbing paper.
The moisture-absorbing paper (gran paper) absorbs the moisture from rice balls and sandwiches, preventing them from becoming sticky. The outer aluminum foil also prevents them from drying out, preserving their flavor.
It also absorbs excess oil from fried foods, preventing them from becoming sticky and helping them stay freshly fried for longer.
The aluminum side features a star pattern, while the moisture-absorbing paper side features an alphabet pattern, adding a fun touch.
